Software installation

General summary

This chapter describes the Installation and Configurations of the 446 Plattform^® and is intended for administrators only.

The software and hardware requirements for an installation are described in the System Requirements section.

The software can be delivered in two different ways:

As a ZIP archive via HTTP or FTP
On a CD/DVD medium

Moreover, databases that will be imported onto an existing Microsoft SQL Server are needed. These databases will be delivered either as a backup file (.BAK) or as SQL scripts (.SQL).

The following steps must be carried out for a functioning installation of the 446 Plattform^®:

Checking the requirements

Providing the files on the server (unpacking the ZIP archives if necessary)

Installation of the Windows services

Installation and configuration of the databases on the MS SQL Server

Optional: Create a user (Windows, Group Managed Service Accounts, MS SQL Server)

Configuring database permissions for user access

Configuration of web pages in IIS

Preparing

Unpack and copy the entire content of the ZIP archive or the CD/DVD medium into a folder of your choice. The recommended path is:

C:\Program Files\Isonet\

In this document, only this path will be discussed. If you want to use another path, don’t forget to use this path in the later installation steps as well.
